Giuseppe (Joseph) Muffoletto. born March 25, 1857, died July 20, 1941 in Baton Rouge. Lived at 93 Ash in Buffalo with Anna (Culotta) Muffolette, born May 24, 1864, died March 17, 1926 in Baton Rouge.....Giuseppe's arrival in the US in unknown.....Anna arrived at least once on July 23, 1898 on the Spartan Prince (departed from Naples, Campania). The manifest listed her as married (yet under the last name Culotta, not Muffoletto)...alon with (daughter or step-daughter Maria (Mary) Muffolett, age 14, born Sept. 25, 1883, died Feb. 20, 1946 in Baton Rouge......and also aboard was daughter or step-daughter Rosa (Rose) Muffoletto, age 5 (later moved to Baton Rouge, married a Saia from New Orleans and died in Baton Rouge......Giuseppe and Anna also had a son Sam, born June 7, 1885 (unknown city) and died Jan. 26, 1963 in Baton Rouge...His arrival into the US is also unknown........***He possibly could be the Sam Muffoletto that arrived on Dec. 7, 1896 (age 11, that conincides) on the ship California from Naples....No other Muffoletto was on board that ship, while carried mostly Russians and Syrians and just a handful of Italians.............Now Marian (Mary) Muffoletto (93 Ash/Buffalo) married Giuseppe (Joseph) Muffoletto ( a distant cousin), born Dec. 17, 1873, died Sept. 27, 1955 in Baton Rouge..on July 2, 1901 in Buffalo......His address at the time was also listed as 93 Ash, yet he had lived in New Orleans area since arrival on Nov. 7, 1892 (S.S. Trinacria) with his father Girolama (age 59).......He (Giuseppe) became a naturalized citizen of the US (i have the official doucument) on March 14, 1901 in Baton Rouge and then I guess headed up to Buffalo to get married (probably arranged)......On the Marriage Certificate, Joseph Muffoletto is listed as the son of Joseph Muffoletto and Rosa Papa ( I have a second document from Sicily to verify that)...but Marian (Mary( Muffolett is listed as the daughter of Joseph Muffoletto and Marian Dontoni (not Anna Culotta)...Witness to the marriage was Petro (Peter) Muffoletto....not sure what relation.............The only thing I know is that the newly married couple soon moved to Baton Rouge and her parents (Joseph and Anna) and their other two children Rosa and Sam eventually moved to Baton Rouge as well.........I also know they had some cousins that lived in the Baltimore area, which married into the Palumbo family......................I would really like to know when my great-grandfather Guiseppe (Joseph) Muffoletto came over to the US and settled in Buffalo......thanks, Sam Muffoletto
