May not be relevent, but my deceased Grandmother was Mary Mrazik of Homestead (Pittsburgh) PA. ss#171-38-5830, born 4/1/1904. She had a brother named Louis, b.2/20/1899. Louis never married. Mary Mrazik married John Valociek (or Valocik) who changed his name to Bangor. When I was young, Louis told me the family came from Slovakia. I remember two names: (spellings are a guess) Zemplinska, and Benkovca (pronounced: ben-cov-cha. Any information would be appreciated.

We have a grandma Mary MRAZIK also. Only her maiden name was KOTES. So although our Mary's can not obviously be one and the same, there still maybe a connection to our surnames MRAZIK back in Slovakia.
Both our MRAZIK KOTES lines came from there. I have only just begun trying to research beyond the U.S. borders and have not had any success yet.
Have you made any progress in learning exact name of town where your Mrazik ancestors are from?
I can't remember if you listed date of birth (shame I can't see your message as I respond!), anyway do you know date of birth? Can you tell me your Mary Mrazik's parents and siblings names? (The other surnames you mentioned in your message are not familiar to me.)
Do you have Immigration details?
Do you know what religion your MRAZIKs were? I think our MRAZIKs were Lutheran and KOTES were R. Catholic in Slovakia and this MRAZIK/KOTES couple raised their children R. Catholic.
I have dates of birth for most of those I know, but am still trying to learn these other details.
I'm thinking that having this same name from Slovakia we may be able to help one another and eventually find a connection as well!
You may e-mail me at RJMRAZIK@msn.com
I look forward to hearing from you!

Helen F. Mrazik ss# 167-05-6924 born 4-27-1911 died 2-10-95. From Homestead, Allegheny PA. Married my great uncle Anthony Morone. I don't know if they had any children. This is all I really know about her, this would be the only link I would have to get more info on Morone's. If you have any info that would help please let me know, thanks Christine.
