MOTZ Joseph "Joe" S. Motz, age 86, of Upper Arlington, died Saturday, May 20, 2006 at Riverside Methodist Hospital. He was a graduate of Grandview Heights High School, where he was a member of the Brotherhood of Rooks, and The Ohio State University, where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. A Civil Engineer, Joe worked on the Alaska Highway prior to his 42 year employment with the Austin Company, retiring as Manager of the Canadian Division. He was an avid birder and member of Columbus Audubon, as well as a Civil War Historian and member of the Civil War Roundtable. He was also a Deacon of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Ruth; daughters, Barbara (Sandy) Casper and Elizabeth Harding; grandchildren, Brandon (Erica) and Steven Casper, and Bradley and Cameron Harding; sister, Helen Hively; brother, William (Janet) Motz; many other relatives and friends. A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, May 22, 2006 at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2070 Ridgecliff Road, where friends will be received following the service.
