My line goes back to Statesville, NC area. My GGG Grandfather WILLIAM H. MORRIS (Billy) was born about 1775 near Statesville, NC. In the early 1800's he moved to TN. He had a son HIRAM born in Lebanon, TN (Wilson Co.) on Oct 8, 1811. Billy fought with Andrew Jackson in the Battle of New Orleans in 1815. Shortly after the war they moved to Carroll County. They remained there until about 1835. In 1835, Hiram and his unknown brother went to Northern Mississippi and surveyed several counties. They ended up in Fayette County, Tn. My Dad wrote a paper when he was in grade (early 1940's) about this and also about Sukey Morris planting a pecan in Carroll County which gew to be at one time the largest pecan tree in the country. Does ant of this info relate to what you have?
