I'd be grateful for any information about Ambrose Moriarty (1838-1887, son of Daniel) b. in Kerry, joined the Royal Irish Constabulary in 1858, and transferred to Newry, Down, that year. Ambrose was a constable in Newry until 1870 when he was injured on duty, then he was pensioned.

Ambrose and Catherine Gilmer (Gilmour, Gilmore; likely b. in Newry about 1840, daughter of Patrick) were married at Newry in 1872.

In 1888, Catherine ("Kate" on passenger list) and her 5 children emigrated to Chicago.
