Frank Morgera Sr. was my grandfather. He and my grandmother, Mary, had three sons, one of which is my dad. :)

Hello,
I believe you are right, we are second cousins. In response to your question, I am Mario's daughter. Since your grandfather was my uncle, I think that makes, which ever of your parents is Morgera by birth, my first cousin as our fathers were brothers. So confusing when put into words. :). I have yet to research the immigration history.

Your father Mario, then, was my grandfather's (Frank Sr.) brother. Therefore, we are second cousins! along with Tom and Melissa (my first cousins). Was your father or mother Mario's child?
The 4 brothers were Mario,Frank Sr., Rocky and Dominic and the 2 sisters, Louise and Theresa. My cousin Melissa knows the immigration history, I think

My name is Debbie Morgera and I can provide the information you are looking for. I live in California. My father, Mario was a locksmith. He married my mother in 1958. He was from Boston and had 4 brothers and 2 sisters. I lost contact with the Boston Morgera family some years ago, but know a little about the family history that I can share with you. Anthony, I would be interested in answering your question. If you have the last name Morgera, then we are directly related. We hail from Naples, Italy and an island off it's coast named Ischia. My name is Melissa and yes, we are indeed related. Your father Mario, was the brother of Frank Morgera Sr. Frank Morgera Sr was my grandfather. There were 4 brothers I think. Mario,Frank Sr,Rocky and Dominic and 2 sisters, Louise and Theresa. I am confused though. I thought Mario had 2 children named Debbie and Wayne?

Hi Charles, we are related. my great grandfather Ciro Morgera was Domenico's half brother. Domenico's brother Charles ran the locksmith business in East Boston. My great grandfather Ciro came to Providence from Fondi with my grandmother Marietta and her sister Rosina. My grandmother lived on Federal Hill and my mother has told me of your grandparents bakery. At one time my brother lived upstairs from the locksmith business in East Boston.

Hello. In reading your post, I found it to be very interesting. My mother Doris Vaccaro married a man by the name of Mario Morgera. I am the product of their union. My mother didn't tell me about this till I was 16 years old. And she didn't remember much about him. I do know that my father was a locksmith and so wasn't his brother. I wonder if we are related in some way. I would love to know more. thank you for any help you could give me. Evelyn

Hi,
My name is Lisa Marie Wilson, born and living in New Zealand.
My grandmother was Filomena Monti born in Casamicciola Ischia. There are still Monti's in Lacco Amena and a family villa in Casamicciola.

I wonder if you know anythin about the Monti/ Ferraro, Aurelio families?
Do you get back to Ischia at all?

According to my cousin, all of the Morgera's are cousins of ours. Welcome family! Mario was our grandfather, Frank's, brother. As far as Brazil goes, we had some ancestors migrate there very early during the Italian migrations to the U.S. Our grandmother, Mary (Frank's wife), was part Brazilian. My cousin believes it was a matter of being asked to go to Brazil. His father also told him a story of some trouble makers that had been deported to Brazil.

Hi, my name is Danielle Morgera. I know my Dad's side of the family is very extensive and large. Unbelievably, I've never met any relatives from this part of my family. From what I know, my family is from Naples, Italy. I know my family immigrated to Boston, Mass and excelled in a Locksmith business.

Tonight, I was searching for judicial decisions about my work (I'm a lawyer), when I got surprised about some problaby relatives like you.
I live in Brazil, in the city of São Paulo.
My parentes, during a travel to Italy, knew some relatives in a city near Naples, called Scauri (I'm not certainly about this name).
My ancestral who came to Brazil at the first time wass called Antonio Morgera, but the name had changed in my country, becaming Morgero.

My grandparents were Domenico Morgero Saveria
Quaranta from Fondi, province of Latina, region of Lazio.
They immigrated to Providence, RI where they ran
a bakery on Federal Hill until my grandfather's
death in the 1940's. There are a number of Morgero/Morgera
families but I have no idea if they are connected.

Hi Daniela,
My maiden name is Morgero. My grandfather's name was Vito Morgero - it was Morgera, but it got changed when he came to Ellis Island. He came from Ischia, Italy which is an island off the tip of Naples sometime in the early 1900's and settled in Brooklyn NY. I know he had some brothers that also lived in Brooklyn- Mario and Roman I think their names were. As far as I knew, we were the only Morgero's but when I have searched listings on aol, some show up in Rhode Island. the only Morgero's left in our family are my father, Peter,who is retired in Florida, my brother Scott who lives in Shelton, CT and my cousin Jerry who lives in NY. My fathers brother Jerry passed away about 5 years ago. My dad has a big family - there was 8 children- 2 boys and 6 girls - so I have lots of cousins - they all live in NY, and NJ and my father was the only one that moved to connecticut.

We must be related somewhere back through the years, but unfortunately, I dont think we are princesses!! I will ask my father about any other brothers my grandfather may have had.
