A lot of the folks looking for Henderson haven't posted in 10 yrs. I am the great-great granddaughter of Henderson Moorefield and Pauline Ashley. My great-grandfather was Pleasant Moorefield and his wife, Nancy J. Wood were the parents of my grandmother, Nannie Moorefield, who married Obediah Ferdinand Young and lived in Ellerbe, NC for a while and in Kernersville at the end of their years. Their baby daughter, Nancy was my mother and she married a Quaker, William H. Angell and here I am 54 yrs later. Henderson, I think had a son or a brother named Talmadge, I remember. And Henderson joined the army during the early part of the Civil War but was sent home because of his age. I think he was in his mid to late 30's about that time. Then, late in the war when they would take almost anyone who was able to walk and not a woman, he re-enlisted which cost him his right arm to a minee ball. He did come home though around May 1865. I'd love to hear from anyone who has more info on the Moorefield line that I come from and I do know a little about Allen, but there was also a Wright Moorefield way back. my email is victorianquaker@aol.com.
