Thank u for your response. I will be happy to share any info I find. I would love to hear of any info you find as well. My grandmother was Rebecca Montenegro. As I said in my earlier post, her father was Florentino Montenegro. Her mother was Manuela morales. I'm not sure if she was widowed or divorced, but my grandmother was around 12 (I think) when she and her mother came to the U.S. Rebecca married my grandfather, Arturo Gonzales, in kern county.

My grandafther from my mothers side was Miguel Montenegro, born in 1910 in Carreras, Tepehuanes, Durango, Mexico, I too am looking for him and his family, my mother was a single child and my grandparents separated around 1932.

There are dozens of Montenegro's in Durango, particularly in Tepehuanes.

My greatgrandfather was also Ramon Oquita Montenegro I dont know who his mother or father where but i do know all of his desendents. He was married to Nicolasa Lopez de Oquita she was from spain. They had 4 children and they adopted 2 more. There only biological son was Ramon Oquita Lopez his sisters where Angelina, Eloisa, and Ernestina. They adopted Ramiro Oquita and Juan Oquita. Ramon Oquita Lopez was married to my. Maternal grandmother Francisca Velardes then Ramon Oquita remarried in California and had a daughter.

My great grandfather was Ramon Oquita Montenegro he was born in Arivechi Sonora . The last name Oquita means ( El hombre de afuera) He was married to Nicolasa Lopez shes from Spain. They had 4 children which are my grandfather Ramon Oquita, Eloisa, Angelina, and Ernestina all there children where born in Eloy Arizona except for Ernestina she was born in Cananea Sonora Mexico. I know mostly all the Oquitas who desended from Ramon Oquita Montenegro we all live in Az. Some still live in Cananea, and Hermosio. I would like to know who Montenegros mom and dad where.

Eugenio C. Montenegro was the brother Emilia. Eugenio married to Elisabeth Mendivil on 9/28/ 1907.

From a copy of the 1920 Census, shows Angel (45) and Carlotta (38) with one son, Reyes (17). the 1920 Census also shows Angel (19) married to Ethel Rogers (19) and one son, Ismael (6mos).

i live in southern california, my father came to the U.S. in the early 70's with his family, but he stayed and the rest of his family moved to the city of Durango in Durango, Mex. but i believe they were originally from Tepehuanes in Durango, Mex. i also have family in Texas and Guadalajara and Tijuana. my mother's surname is Tejeda which is also Spanish but her family emmigrated from Spain to Cuba, and then to the U.S.

The reason I asked is that I was recently sent a family tree (incomplete) and it shows brothers Richard & Gregory on it.

Richard's post said "I have a brother named Greg". It seemed only logical that it might have been the same two.

According to the tree the Grandparents should have been James & Mildred. (parents Richard & Mary Jane)

Yes, my fathers uncle and aunt were Eugene and Antonia Montenegro and they lived somewhere in L.A. They had the following children: Eugene, Gloria and Consuelo. They are all dead now but any links to this family would be helpful. Please respond.

Antonia Montenegro was my maternal great-grandmother's sister. I was very young when she passed, but she was my Aunt Toni and I remember her very well. Her daughter Gloria had part in raising my sisters and I, we were very close to her.
