I am looking for confirmation of the following information and I'd like some information about the Irish forebears ... if it's out there.
My g'gfather was Thomas Mochler b. ABT 1862 in Ireland d Dec 31 1904. He was married to Bridgit A. Connell born in Ireland. They were married 17 Nov 1885 and she died July 30 1922 in Sandwich MA.
It's not clear when they changed their names to Moakley but by the time my grandmother was born in 1902, they were Moakleys in Boston.
I've been told there were twelve children but can only account for the following:
Thomas Moakley ne Mochler born June 30 1887 died 1931 married Mary Kelly Three children: Thomas Moakley who died 2002, Kathleen Moakley, Rita Moakley
Mary (Mamie) Moakley born 1891 married George Eddy Four children: George Eddy, Jr., Mary Eddy, Virginia Eddy and Clare Eddy
Rosetta (Rose) Moakley born Oct 13, 1893 died 1941 married Joseph Vallely Five children: Joseph Vallely, Jr., Mary (Sis) Vallely, Rose (Pidgie) Vallely, Theresa Vallely, John Vallely who died 1940
Peter J. Moakley born Sept 23, 1895, died 1968 unknown first wife with two children - Frances X Moakley, Mary Moakley married Anna Cronin who died 1922 children: Helena Moakley, Anna Moakley m Rudolph Zygadlo
John Moakley born Aug 31 1897 died Feb 1972 no known marriages or children
James Moakley born Feb 1900 died Feb 1901
Agnes Rita Moakley born Feb 14 1902, died July 22 1982 married August 23 1920 to Murray Michael Norris who was born April 15 1893 died August 15 1957 Two children: William Gerard Norris (my father), Theresa Marie Norris
Joseph Moakley born July 27 1904, died Nov 16 1967 married Mary Scabini Three children John Joseph Moakley (US congressman), Thomas Moakley, Robert Moakley
I have a little more information about later generations to share with family members but if you have additional information or clarification of what's listed here, I would love to connect with you.
Thanks

This is in regards to the book dealer that had the book from Sandwich,Ma. My Great grandmother was Bridget Connolly Moakley who died in Sandwich in 1922.According to oral history shared with me by my grandfather Peter Moakley she (Bridget ) got hit with a golf ball on the first vacation of her life. Her sons sent her on vacation .This info is confirmed by the Sandwich historical society and Sandwich town records. Incidentally I now have a home in Sandwich,Ma strange co-incidence. Mr. Book dealer please contact me if possible.

Would anyone know in what town(s) Thomas Mochler or Bridget Connolly were born or lived in Ireland? I'm Paul Moran, the oldest child of Theresa Vallely Moran. She is still alive and doing very well. All of my aunts and uncles, my mother's siblings, have since passed. My grandmother was Rosetta Moakley. I never knew her. She died long before I was born. By the way, my mother told me that Bridget Connolly died as a result of a blow to the head from a softball not a golf ball. I believe that a golf ball would be the more lethal. Please let me know if you any further information abouth the Moakleys or the Vallelys for that matter.

Hi – my grandmother was Mary Moakley, married to George Eddy. Sadly, my mother and her siblings are deceased. Just recently, by absolute coincidence I recently became acquainted with the grand-daughter of Thomas Moakley, married Mary Kelly. I’ve enjoyed reading this board – thank you. I’ll add information if I come across anything additional. Thanks again.
