hi my dad was moakley my name is Debra also last name former moakley his cousin was congressman joseph Moakley his mother was Mita Moakley formaly Greenleaf I found her death citificate not my grandfathers thier from N.Y. I have some infor I have to pull it out my dad saids he was English & German I found a place in the mall that looks up your name an it came out Irish how about you take care Debra What does surname means

hi my dad was a Moakley his cousin was Joseph Moakley the congressman his mom was Mita Moakley formaly Greenleaf my dad saids he is English an German I found out he is Irish my name is Debra Hogan (formally) MOAKLEY my self my dad was from N.Y. I beleive Brooklyn I have some infor I have to find it nothing on my grandfather well take care

I, too, have relatives from Brooklyn NY. Could I possibly get more details from you, as your message was rather sketchy.

I'll give you a little background to see if there's some connection:

My parents are living in Long Island NY; they are Gerard (1932 - ) and Bernice (Hartman, 1933 - ).

My father is the youngest of 8. Two of his brothers, Daniel and George, live in Queens.

My grandfather was Charles (1884 - 1963), who owned a pole business named Charles Knight (started c.1905). My grandmother was Rose (not sure of maiden name, 1899 -1981).

At this point, I do not know of any connection between myself and the late Congressman Joe Moakley. I look forward to hearing from you.

my grandparents were from Brooklyn N.Y. all I know is my grandfather was in an institution an my grandmother was born in I beleive 1899 I have to look for the information I have Greenleaf was my grandmothers last name she is listed on the death report but not my grandfather I think I have to go to brooklyn an find out I have to go thru my desk an find the infor I had her address where she was lived I have family in the caskells I'll try to find out more

Do you know either your father or grandfather's first name? I did not see them in your two posts. Also, does your dad have any brothers and/or sisters? If so, what are their names?

You said something about having to go to Brooklyn to find out some info. Would you mind sharing some of that when you can?

hi is it congressman Joe thats my fathers consin my dads name is Rudolph Moakley his mom was Mary (Meta) is what everyone call her thier from New york his dad was John or Joseph I have to find the papers any ways my grandma was Greenleaf before she married my grandfather I have to find the papers don't know much of my grandfather as my dad never spoke much of him my mom said he was in a institution I think he dided there my grandma dided in 1977 she was born in 1891 I have to find the papers my dad insisted he was german an english but I found some infor we had irish in us well I have to look for what infor I have but never could find anything much my dad also had a brother that died I have to look up in the death part thier both listed there I'll see what I can find out I have to look for the papers what other infor do you have? take care keep in touch debrahogans@aol.com
