I saw your reply and want to let you know that you and my husband might be related. I don't know if I did correspond with you via email. My other email address is nuttyoverbostons@aol.com.

How you are related to my husband, Mark, I don't know. His father's name is Connie Wayne Mnich; grandfather was C. Konstanty Mnich; great grandfather same name and he came from Poland. Mark's grandmother's name is Lottie Mnich (I forgot her maiden name, I have it at home). They lived in Griffith, Indiana. Mark's father currently lives in Bloomington, Indiana, and grandmother still lives in Griffith (grandfather long deceased). I was told that the Mnich relatives got into a feud, and half of them moved to Bartlesville, Oklahoma. I had been in touch with Chris Mnich in Oklahoma, but haven't kept up with him. I need to get back into touch with him.

Mark remembers his great grandmother named Busha. She did have a real name, but he always called her Busha (Polish word for grandmother). She spoke no English, only Polish. She died several years ago at the age of 100+.

Does the above help?
Peggy

Ooops this was for "For Chris Mnich" replied by Lee Mnich. I didn't mean to post a new message while it was supposed to be a reply to Lee Mnich. Hope you received this message. Please let me know if you did receive this, Lee.

Hi, My Great Grandmother's Mom was named Anna Mnich. She was married to Michael Bahrik. My Mnich line came from Slovinky, Slovakia. They originally came to the US and settled in AL. Then Michael died and Anna married a John Shivra and moved to Robbins, Ohio. From there they moved to Gary, Indiana. Anna Mnich is buried in Lake county, Indiana. I was born and raised in Gary, In and know the area well. I go there to visit relatives and visit my family's graves.I have some more information on the Mnich line. Is it possible that your Mnich line and mine could be related. I will share what I have if you desire.

There was a Gus Mnich in Bartlesville who came from Poland in 1913, I think. He had several sons, two were Tony and Mike Mnich. They ran Mnich's Grocery in Bartlesville for many years. Both my father and I worked there when we were young.
