James & Anna Mlckovsky, Cleveland, Oh

I found James and Anna Mlckovsky in the 1900 census as husband and wife. But I have no marriage record to prove that Anna is the mother of the children. James was born Sept of 1846 and Anna in May of 1846, both in Bohemia.

Children: 1. Rose A. b. abt 1872 in Bohemia
Married Edward J. Stettenfeld.
2. Mary M. b. Oct 1874 in Bohemia
Married Charles A. Heisley
3. Joseph b. Mar 1879
4. Barbara b. 13 Oct 1883 in Ohio
Married James Marsicek
5. Stella G. b. 22 Mar 1886 in Ohio
Married Frank Holicky
6. Jennie b. Sep 1888

I only have Anna and James in the 1900 census, so there may be children grown and gone by that time. Mary M is my great grandmother and died in 1908. She and her husband are both buried in Geauga County, OH. I also have a little more information on this family. If anyone is interested, email me at mismicma@yahoo.com

My father did research into the origin of our family tree. The MLCKOVSKY name did originate in Bohemia in a tiny town called MLCKOV. Mlckovsky is then an adjective for a person from Mlckov in the southern part of Bohemia. I was born in the Czech Republic myself.

My great grandfather was Frank or Francis Mlckovsky. He married Kate Marek in 1884 in Cleveland Ohio. I think that James is either a brother or cousin of my great grandfather. My great grandfather came from Bohemia to Cleveland before 1884. He died in 1918. I have not been able to find any links to his parents or his brothers or sisters.
