My great-grandfather's brother was Anton Mladic. He came to the US from Slovenia (at the time it was Austro-Hungarian Empire) in 1893, and then again in 1903. His wife was Johanna... It probably isn't the same person, but Mladic is such a rare name I wonder if it is related to Mladek...

Hello,
My father's family were Sudatendeutsche who were from Bilin, Czechoslovakia. Bilin was taken over by The Third Reich in the late 1930's. My father who passed away in 1998 was Alfred Mladek and his father was Max Mladek. ( My father came to Montreal in 1952 through Halifax.) My grandfather Max married Anna Hille and they had only two children: one was my father, the other my aunt Erika who is still alive and lives outside of Cologne Germany. I had been told not too many made alive after the second world war so I was kind of interested upon stumbling across your website.
If it interests you, please give me your family history and we'll compare to see if their is a connectionbetween the two families.
