Mixon book

Re: Mixon book
In the early 1990's I met JOHN MIXON on the telephone and questioned him about his book on the MIXON family.
He offered to sell me a copy but when he told me the price I delayed. Jokingly he said, "don't wait too long cuz I'm not sure how much longer I'm gonna be here (alive).
The $90 price tag seemed like extortion at the time.
I discovered that though the book was out of print it was available at the Library of Congress; so I drove from Boston to Washington, D.C. to do my research. I thought I'd kill several birds with one trip.
To my surprise the MIXON book was amazingly detailed and was not just on book but instead, three volumes! The books had green covers. I copied dozens of pages before driving home to again call John MIXON. In the month that had passed, so had Mr. Mixon.
Then I discovered that his family had no knowledge of any remaining available copies of the book. One son had a copy but of course would never sell it. Another had lost theirs.
I got a lead on the publisher but they had none in stock.
However there was another book on the MIXON Family; the ones hailing from Georgia and I ordered a copy. The book has a brown cover.
My Mixon family is African American, hailing from Amite and Pike County, Mississippi.
I'll be glad to help as possible.
Good luck.
