How cool is this! We're cousins! Gassie was the brother of my grandfather. Gassie's niece, Maud Mixon, married Richard Martin, had two children Sonja and Richard Jr., and they always went back to South Carolina for the Martin family reunion. They live in northeast Georgia; my aunt & uncle's home has always been sort of a "central receiving station" for my mom's siblings & families - they've always been the one to keep everyone in touch. Another of Gassie's nieces is Ethel, who was my mother. My dad was a Marine, so we moved alot, finally settling down in Southern California.

I've just begun tracing family history, and all of this is new to me. How about you? Have you found much info on the Mixons? I've seen the birth certificates for my mom's siblings, and Mixon was sometimes spelled as Mixson. So now I'm thoroughly confused. Do you have any words of advice for me?
