I am still looking for any information on parents of Deschamps Mitchum, born 1865 in Hope Township, Williamsburg County, SC. He married Hummin Eliza Kelly. They had seven children, Neasha Vermell, John Ashley, James(John) Wesley, Deschamps Jr, Geneva, Turner and Ruebin.
He is listed on 1880 census living with an uncle Joe Mitchum, his wife Mary, They had two daughters, Sallie and Jane.
