I'm from a line of Milners in Iowa. I'm 100% sure my line goes me>Mark>Roland>Archie>William all born in IA and William's parents were Joseph Milner bn 1818 KY and Sarah Montgomery bn 1834 IN.

I'm 95% sure Joseph is the son of --
John Milner born abt 1780 in VA, then moving to KY when he was little, then married Mary Galloway, then moving along with sons David and Joseph and son-in-laws Oxley, Hurd, Courtney to IN then IA in around 1841 (where he married again and had daughter Parthenia). he lived in Linn county, IA until 1879.

I'm 60-70% sure John is the son of
Luke Milner born 1750 VA, then moved to KY. was a pensioner of Revolution, and named a sons John, Edmond, and daughter Ann Milner Woods in a pension report.

so, here are the questions I'm trying to answer:

1) does anyone have a piece of evidence that DIRECTLY ties Joseph Milner 1818 to John Milner 1780?

2) does anyone have anything else that ties Luke 1750 to John 1780?

3) Who is John Milner 1780's mother?

4) is my Luke the Luke Samuel Milner that is usually shown as Capt. John Milner 1732's first born son?
