Sorry for the delay, I had to track down my aunt.
She remembers his birthday as September 8, either 1887 or 1888. His wife's name was Julia Ekretsen (phoentic spelling); their children are John Jr. 1910?, Steven, 1912? Ann, 1915?, Joseph, 1917/18 and William, 1926.
That's all I know, other than the fact that John had a store.
