John J Middleton Was born abt 1820 in Va.He married Josephine M Eanes. Their children were:

He served in the confederate army and was a color bearer. He is found to be missing from his unit several times and then returns. I have been told that he suffered from severe headaches most of his life. When he returned from the war his wife and her brother had sold everthing he had and all that was left was a pair of mules and a wagon.( maybe they sold to survive)He Lost his mind and was carried to the jail in wentworth NC and since it was the middle of winter it was very cold. He was rather violent and removed all his clothing and died of exposure. I have tried to find his burial place but have had no success.
