Hi to anyone who will answer my question :^)

I am the granddaughter of a Anton Micale said to be from California??? He was married to my Grandmother but after my mother was born they divorsed and he left. I do not know much about him and do not know how to correctly pronouce the name "Micale". I believe it has been corrupted down the short line due to the time and place that my Grandparents lived- it was not popular to be Italian.
I have just recently found out a little descriptive information about my Grandfather, he supposedly was either from or lived in California, was born 7/8/23, was 5'6 with black hair and brown eyes. At the time he was living with and married to my Grandmother they lived in Seattle, WA. (1950-51). My mother told me he was from Sicily and on my mother's birth certificate it said that he was a Seaman. This is all I know of him. I am curious about my ancestry and want to know how to pronouce the name. Can anyone help?

God Bless-

never too late..... i found this.
Micale is pronounced: mi, like Me in tell me please, then ca, like Ca in california, and Le, like le in lecture. of course, more ... fluently! We Micales are of sicilian origin, more precisely Messina.
Congratulations for being a.... Micale!

Hi, my family name is Micale,I live in Italy and maybe I can help you with the right pronunciation of your name. It will sound like Mee ka le, where the sound of 'ka' is similar to the 'ca' of cavern and the one of 'le' is like the 'le' of lending.
Hope this can help you,
ciao
