The Martin Miars family I am related to is from Tazewell County, IL and Clinton County, OH. Before that I believe it was West Virginia.

Hi,

I was wondering what country the line originiated in--where they were before coming to the U.S. Was it Germany? And do you know where specifically in the country of origin they were from?

Thanks,
Wendy

Hi Wendy...

Sorry about that. I'm not sure where they came from before West Virginia.

Are you related to one of Martin Miars' children? If so which one?

Diane

Hi Diane,

I am researching the Miars line for someone else who is a descendant of Martin via William. I don't really have much information beyond your Family Tree Maker web site.

Thanks,
Wendy

I came across some info that this Miars family originally came from Germany, arrived in Philadelphia when they came to America. They stayed in Pennsylvania for a time, then moved on to Virginia. Martin Miars was born in Frederick Co. Virginia in 1767. He came to Clinton Co. Ohio about 1811. His father started with him to Clinton Co., but turned back after a few days. There was a tree with a lot of info on the early lines, but it has now been removed.

Hi, I was wondering if you were still researching Martin and Ann Miars? I don't know if I am related to them or not but I just discovered that their infant son 'John' is buried next to my gg grandmother. By next I mean his stone is touching hers and I am trying to find out if there is a connection as there might be one with the two stones that close to each other. Thanks,

Mike Alexander
