MIano Family from Savignano di Puglia / Savignano Irpino

I have been researching the families of Savignano for 9 years now and have quite a few of different
Miano branches from this area ( about 100 Miano's in my database going back to the mid 1700's).
If your family is from Saviganano, Monteleone, Accadia or Valatta please let me know and I will be more than happy to do lookups.

My grandparents were born in Savignano di Puglia and came to New York around the turn of the century. His name was Pompilioand she was Maria Di Fillipis. I would appreciate any information you may have on them and other family members. Incidentally, I visited Savignano about 15 years ago and met a woman named Marinaccio. There is also a Japanese antiques dealer in Manhattan with that name with connections to the town.
Thank you for your help.

My last name is Miano. My great-grandfather's name was Leonardo Miano, and I believe he was from Savignano. His wife's name was Carmella Marinaccio Miano.

I'm just beginning to research my family tree. Do you have any information for me?

PS...I have been told that Leonardo Miano was a shoe repairman in Savignano. The Miano family settled in Butler, PA. If my research is correct, Leonardo arrived in America, via Ellis Island, in 1900. He departed Italy, from Naples, aboard the Gran Antilla.

Hi, I am beginning to trace my husbands family history starting with his great grandparents Leonardo and Carmela (Marinaccio) Miano. All I know is that they lived in Lyndora Pa. with a son Michael who married Mary? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Well, the world continues to get smaller. My family (Miano) lived in Lyndora, PA. My grandfather, Anthony Miano (born and died in Lyndora), was the son of Leonardo and Carmela Miano. My great grandparents were the first of our family to immigrate from Italy. My father (Anthony Robert) and I were both born in Lyndora (Butler). In fact, the three of us all had the same first grade classroom at Lyndora Elementary School.

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but we have been in the middle of a move so have let my research slide.
Don't think we have a connection as I can find no indication of arrivals or residences in Pa. My routes are Sicily to Chicago. Thought I would at least let you know. Good luck on your research.
