I'm looking for my relatives. All of them. I expect every Miano in the country who is on-line at one time or another to e-mail me. My family is Tim (my father), Nick(bro), Sam(bro), Sally(sis), and a list of cousins a mile long. -timmy

Timmy: You don't say where you live or come from, or what Miano Clan you are associated with, other then your immediate family. Interestingly, I have a nephew named Timmy Miano. If you receive this message, why don't you provide more information about yourself, i.e., where you live, where your folks are from particularly your father's family, etc. Perhaps some where down the line, we may be related. Until then...

Hi! Am researching my husband's family.
His dad, Anthony Miano was born in Siracusa, Sicily in 1924. His parents were Lucio Miano, born in Malta 1897 and Santa Giardina, born in Floridia, Sicily in 1898. Lucio's parents were Antonio Miano, born in Siracusa, and Maria Politi born in Siracusa. Antonio's father was Francesco Miano. Anthony came to New York around 1927 with his parents. These are the only relatives that we know of at this time. Anthony was an only child, and his dad was an only son (* he had two sisters) and my husband is an only son (he has a sister, Linda Miano Sullivan). Trying to locate possible siblings of my husband's great grandfather, and great great.

Hi Marie! Although I don't think my Lucio is related as a brother to your Antonio, we may have a link somewhere further back. What was the year that your grandfather came to NY and his age? Since our families have the same Christian names: Antonio, Lucio, quite possibly they were cousins, with a common grandfather or great-grandfather.

HI LORRAINE,

MY PARENTS CAME TO THE USA VIA ELLIS ISLAND IN NOVEMBER 1920. THEIR NAMES WERE CONCETTA AMBROGIO LA ROCCA BORN 1/10/02 AND GIUSEPPE LA ROCCA BORN 1/20/1897. THEY WERE FROM CANITTINI BAGNI PROVINCE OF SIRACUSA SICILY.
MY MOTHER'S MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME WAS MIANO AND MY FATHER'S MOTHER'S MAIDEN NAME WAS MIANO. I KNOW THAT MY FATHER CAME FROM A LARGE FAMILY. SOME OF THEM WENT TO BRAZIL,
ARGENTINA, MAYBE TRIPOLI I'M NOT SURE. THE ONLY RELATIVE OF MY FATHER'S THAT I KNEW WAS A SISTER NAMED PHILOMENA LA ROCCA SPADARO WHO LIVED IN BROOKLYN NY FOR MANY YEARS. MY FAMILY SURNAMES ARE LA ROCCA, MIANO, AMBROGIO, BORDONARO, LAZZARO, GRILLO, BORDIERI, GIONFRIDDO AND MANY MORE. MOST OF THE PARENTS GAVE THEIR CHILDREN THE SAME FIRST NAMES. THEY ARE, BRIGIDA, PAOLINO, SANTINO OR SANTO, CONCETTINA OR CONCETTA OR TINA, SEBASTIANO, IGNAZIO, ERICCHIETA AND MANY MORE. I HOPE THIS INFO IS HELPFUL IN SOME WAY. I WOULD LIKE TO HEAR FROM OTHER FAMILIES WITH THE SAME NAMES PERHAPS FROM THE SAME REGION IN SICILY.

CORDIALLY,

BRIDGET

You said you have cousins in Portsmouth and Norfolk, VA.
Well...I guess I'm one of them. My grandfather,
John Stanley Miano had brothers named Joseph and Gregory.
I have alot of information on the Miano's here.
I would be interested in talking to you. Thanks!
