Hi everyone on the list. I know most of us are searching for the ancestry of Stark Mhoon. We do know, from William G.'s application for Chreokee citizenship, that Stark's mother was Sallie Hughes. In doing research at a local genealogical library I came across the following information. I do not know if it is relevent, but thought I'd throw it out on our list. 1820 Census, Northampton county North Carolina; found on page 234; SALLY HUGHES 2-0-0-0-0-0-0-1-0-0-0-0-8-0-0-4-1-0-3-3-1-2-1-. This lists 4 sons under the age of 10, and two females un der the age of 10. Make of it what you will. I just thought it was worth posting. Jan

I welcome any information I can get about the Mhoons. I am a descendant of Stark Mhoon and still live in the area where he originally settle in the 1800's. Please feel free to E-mail me with any information. Thanks

My gtreat-grandmother was Georgia Anna Mhoon or Moone. She was born in 1850 and was in Bertie county in the 1860 census. She had her birthday written in her Bible but this census had her as 7 years old. With a Mary Mhoone 46. When she married in 1874 to Michael Thomas. Do you have any of this information we can tie in? Also she used the last name of Johnson instead of Mhoon. Was thought to be Indian no tribe mentioned.

Not unless you're awfully old.William Green Mhoon was born around 1840 and died early 1900's.Jan

I was Asking about James M Mhoon I though I though saw a post that said this James was the son of Green Mhoon. my great grandMa was Sarah L Mhoon m. James Bledsoe my great grandpa one of thier daughters was Mary Francis Bledsoe M. Robert Ferguson my grandpa

Hi Norman,
My grandfather was Jim Mhoon, he was the son of Green Mhoon. Very possibly you did steal a watermelon from his patch. He used to raise some really nice big watermelons in the patch up on the hill behind the big white house where we lived when I was a kid. I can still remember tasting those watermelons on a hot day, fresh from the patch, it didn't matter that they were warm as well. They just don't grow them like that anymore.

Shirley I though I pulled up a post that said. flint mhoon the son of Green Mhoon. sorta thrugh me. I though well Jim Mhoon name was Green Mhoon????? Norm
