Ernest Messier, 77,
of Greensburg, went to be with the Lord, surrounded by his loving family, on Thursday, April 24, 2008. He was born March 19, 1931, in Hempfield Township, a son of the late Ernest and Mary (Raffensperger) Messier.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Ford;
and two brothers, Austin and David Messier.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Norma (Scherer) Messier;
his daughter, Judy Laskey and her husband, Daniel, of Greensburg;
grandchildren, Nicole Laskey Billak and her husband, Jacob, of Grove City,
and Matthew Laskey, of Greensburg;
a sister, Rosemary Lindsey and her husband, Douglas, of Ava, Mo.; sisters-in-law, Irene Altier
and Ruth Rolli, both of Greensburg, and Dorothy Miller, of Colorado Springs, Colo.;
nieces, Marci Morgan and family, of Canonsburg, and Cheri Price and family, of Colorado Springs, Colo.; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
He was a machinist by trade and was retired from Sears Auto Department. He was a veteran of the Army, serving in the Korean War. A celebration of his life will be held for Ernest at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 29, at the Free Methodist Church, Toppers Road, Greensburg. LEO M.
