Your information is incorrect. The long succession of Johns confused the process. They were always referred to as John Jr and Sr and John Jr always became John Sr. The other confusing point was The Mesnards moved to NY twice and they have been merged into one in the History of Effingham Co Illinois. The Mesnards owe my g-grandfather Luther Mesnard their heritage. He was interested in genealogy in the mid 1800s. At that time, there were persons alive that were born in CT. They even knew where they were born and that their ancestors came to NY from France. Luther’s father and Alfred who went by Job were two important sources. I have notes of an interview Luther had with Job and Luther’f father was requested to write a history. John II was his grandfather of which he had and I received a letter written by him dictated by his wife Mary about the history of her father. That was mostly lies but there were shreds of truth that allowed me to discover what really happened. The truth was too painful for her to relate. Luther’s information was still screwed up but it was about 50 years more accurate.

I have spent 20 years off an on trying to get your side straght. This is one of the reasons I have not completed my book that is 80-90% finished. My side of the book was complete in 2007. I also wanted some early pictures from your side but so far I have only seen 1 19th century photo from Cathy Long and that was taken near the end of the century. Not only were they confused about the Johns and the NY info but they rairly used their baptised names as use names such as Alfred or Ben Franklin who was baptised Ben but went by Franklin. No where is his full name used. I realized they were the same person since they had the same parents and were born in the same year. Sloppy genealogists added childred of the use name to the list of baptised names. Other persons took that information as gosple. I am familiar with Anna Spitler 1813-1878 married 1837 in Ohio. They were probably PA Dutch but did not come from PA. The town they were married in had plenty of PA Dutch.
That John Married two Anna’s the second was most likely a widow. Both may have been related Spitlers and one was the daughter of Henry Spitler. They were probably named after the same ancestor. So her maiden name was Spitler.

I have not straightened out Solomon’s tree yet. I have these 2 trees who may be the same person I have yet to resolve. I will give them to you please let me know what you can make of them. I almost got a copy of his family bible but that 'disappeared'. Family bible's have a way of doing that. I almost had a copy of my Ancestors bible Andrew, John IIs first born. I had been promised to my grandfather but his niece pocketed it and it stayed hidden for a century. No one wished to admit to having it. When I finally did track it down, the owner had cancer and never got around to making a copy and sending it to me. It is likely it is now lost for good. I suspect that is what happened to Solomon's bible.

I did more research, this is an edit. These are the same person and Solomon's father was John the Cooper (III) Born in CT. I have a letter written by Solomon's son William S.
