Where did your Mertens come from? Mine came from Germany and when they came to the U. S. they changed the name to Martin. My first ancestor on this line came to Virginia in the early 1700's.
I do have an Addie Myrtle Martin b. 17 Sep 1888 in Pierce Township, Washington, Indiana, she d. in 1987 and was married to a L. A. RATTS, 4 Sep 1912, could this have been RAPP?
