I believe I may also be a descendant of Johann Jost Merten.
My ggg grandfather was Francis Martin born in Virginia about 1785 and died in Warren County Virginia in 1850. From what I can find Francis may have been the son of George Martin (1762-1822)and George the son of Charles Martin (1744-1815). Then comes a larger issue. I have seen that Charles is the son of Johann Jost Merten and also have seen those that believe he is the son of Francis Martin II.

I would appreciate any help/leads that anyone can give me as to who the parents, etc of my Francis Martin were and am I truly a descendant of Johann Jost Merten??
