My subscription to view records has expired but you may want to check a census that was done in McIntyre, Pennsylvania aroun 1900 or 1910. The town has no other record of the family but it appears that for that moment in time nearly everyone was there.

Hey Keefer ~ Guess you don't remember me. It's been about 40 years since I saw you last. Do you remember having Thanksgiving over cousin Danny & Barbara's in Vegas? Or maybe a Christmas Eve party over Aunt Rose & Uncle Rocky's? Or you might remember my brothers, Bob & Jim?

Anyway, it's been difficult to track down the Meranto line. Guess that the name must have been misspelled along the way.

Hello, I realize this is an old post, but Frank, aka Fang's wife lives in Las Vegas. There is also an "Albert" who lives in Las Vegas. I thought this may help you continue your search. Unfortuately, my father, Richard "Sam" Meranto isn't much of a family man so I don't know much, but would like to.

We are cousins!!!! Actually . . . 2nd cousins once removed! Your Dad and my Dad (now deceased) are 1st cousins!! I remember Keefe. I try to keep in touch with Cindy. Your Dad still looks GREAT! I saw them at Easter time, over my brother, Jim's, house. Nice to meet you over Ancestry.com. How much genealogy have you got? I don't have much on the Meranto side 8^(

Pasquale Maranto

I'm in need of information about Pasquale Maranto. He was born in Cefalu, Sicily, Italy about 1950 and died in Cypremort near Jeanerette, St. Mary Parish, Louisiana in 1934. I know he had one son named Joseph who died in 1913 at the age of 34. Pasquale was the son of Giusseppe Maranto and (Nicolina?) Grazia Valenza.

Hey Juliano, what are you doing? It has been a long time since I've seen you. How's Dad doing? Did you celebrate Shanee's birthday? Have you seen Nana lately? She's going to be spending the weekend with us, this coming weekend. I am so excited.

So . . . what are you doing on a genealogy website? Is this a school project? Or are you interested in genealogy? How did you get interested? I don't have much information on the Meranto side . . . actually, I don't have any at all. I have some on Nana's side. Let me know and I'll share the information that I've found.

Oh! Tell Dad and Shanee that I'm sending them an invitation to Kira's (that's James' wife) baby shower. You are invited, too. It's this Saturday. That's why Nana is spending the weekend with us.

I'd be interested to see what you have, especially since my Dad and his brothers/sisters have all past-away. I don't have any information on my Dad's uncles/aunts. So . . . I would really appreciate all the help you can give me. If I can add anything more, I'll definitely pass it along.

From what I can gather all Meranto folks are related. There aren't a lot of us. I'm trying to trace our geneology. So far i'm able to trace back about 5 generations just by word of mouth from talking to folks. let me know if this helps. gmeranto@cox.net

My Grandfather Meranto

I havne't been able to find any information on the Meranto family line. My grandfather was Philip Meranto, born in 1887, I believe that he was from Calabria. He settled in Niagara Falls, NY He died in 1972. The only family blood family member that is still living, has alzheimers. He married Vincenzina Verald (though, I'm thinking that her last name may have been Veraldi). Their children are:
George 1912 - 1943
Albert (aka Al) 1917 - 1990
Viola (aka Vi) 1918 - 2002
Francis (aka Bibs) [still with us]
Robert (aka Rocky) 1923 - 2000
Frank (aka Fang) 1925 - 1989

If you are related to any of these people, would you PLEASE post here. I'm anxious in finding living relatives, as well as those that have gone before us. Thanx
