Are you still looking for your birth father Jesus Meneses? I know he had another son in Oakland in 1969 and had a daughter in 1990. I am the wife of his son who he also did not raise. Jackie, I have been really trying to get to the bottom of Tomas's missing children and I keep hitting dead end.
My Grand Father was James Menesses born to John and Emma (Ruiz) Menesses. And info that you can share would be great. My dad died 2 years ago and I just stopped working on it until now.

I am also trying to find out information on my husbands side of the family. His grandfather is buried in Mexico City im not sure where exactly his name is Marcelino Meneses he was born in 1900 and was married to Elvira Guerra. Hopefully as we search we will be able to help each other find information :)

My grandfather's family came to California from Villa Hidalgo, Mexico. Just wondering if you had any more info on the town in Hidalgo, Mexico. The family business was and is fencing ranches from what I've heard from my family.

My DNA came back with traces of European Jewish (0-4%), but it very well could be from my mother's side of the family (mixed bag of European).

Looking for Meneses in Distrito Federal, MX

Hello, I am trying to find my paternal grandfather's line in Distrito Federal, Mexico or otherwise known as Mexico City.

My grandfather rarely talked about his family and now that he has past away I have no way of gathering more info.

My grandfather, Alberto Meneses, was born in 1917 in Tacuba, Mexico which is a county within Mexico City. His parents are Cirilo Meneses and Jesus Lopez. I found my grand uncle in church records, but can't seem to find my grandfather or the parents' name of Cirilo and Jesus.

Help or hints would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Some advice for looking at Mexican records, names are badly mispelled and church records are your best bet. Family search has great resources. Good luck!

hi my name is jamie menesses. my dad is jules menesses and his granfather was jules julian menesses and grandmother was octavie baudot menesses. my dad said that his grandfather was from reggio and moved to arabi. we were always told that there were three brothers who came from the islands but we dont know for sure are what their names were. my dad thinks one was named louis but again not sure.

Wondering if any Meneses out there are Jewish

In my research I have learned that Meneses is a last name that was given to Sephardic Jews coming out of the inquisition. I also have been told that Meneses comes from the Jewish tribe of Menassah. Which could explain why we are scattered all over the world. Just wondering if there are any Jewish Meneses out there or if any Meneses have had a DNA testing showing Jewish markers.

My mother's name is Maria Meneses de Mendez. My grandad died in Benque. My mom has about 6 sisters and 3brothers (one deceased, my Tio Pedro).

I know who you are. Have you found any more info about our grandfather? Are you starting your own family tree?
I have not been lucky enough to discover any more info about our grandfather. There are mexican census but notsure if they are those of granddaddy.
Would you happen to know where in Mexico was he born? I know the year but need the name of the town or the name of his mother (granddad's). I have been looking into it since a year ago or two.
My mom goes to Benque once in a while. :-)
