To who-ever is interested. My name is Reese Meluskey, son of Joseph and Midred Meluskey. Married to Victoria Meluskey and have a daughter from my first wife named Sarah. Brothers Joe and Tom, sister Joann.I work for UPS, I'm a veteran of the marine corps, have been very fortunate to live a very "colorful" life. Know a fair amount about the family history, but my brother and sister recently retraced our families history on a trip thru the east coast. Not really a big computer person, but will try to watch for messages if anyone's interested!

Melusky in Shenendoah PA

Hi all,

I too married into the Melusky family. My hubby decends from Martin Melusky, who died in Shenendoah in 1920. His wife, Mary, ran a family story in Shenandoah for many years. They had a daughter, Francis (among others) who married into the Macijuianas (Matunis) family.

Martin was married to Mary, who was born in Shenandoah in 1880. Her family is John Mullishefski & Marti Buchinski, who are listed in the 1880 census.

Our family is listed as Martin Miliausky and family in the 1910 census. There is also a Martin Meluski in the 1910 Census in Shenandoah. Probably another relative....

Kim

Hi Cory,
Thanks for the info. It's possible that your grandfather Joseph Pius is decended from Anthony and Nan (Anna).
I was contacted a couple of years ago from Tony Meluskey who, the son of John Meluskey and grandson of Anthony and Nan (Anna). The only information he was able to provide about Anthony's son Joseph was that his middle name was Stanton and his wife's name was Rose Tranquilla.
Tony also mentioned that Anthony (after the death of Nan)remarried. Her name was Catherine Kelly.
Does any of this info coincide with what you have? I have a picture of Anthony and the census records from 1900-1930. If you are interested I can send them to you.

Rose

Hi Paula,

I joined the Melusky clan back in 1996 by marriage. I've a lot of geneology for my side but not much for the Melusky side. However I did hear from my mother-in-law that in Lithuania they might have spelled their name Chemlovski or Cemlovski or Chemelovski or something similar. I think the Ellis Island processing of immigrants changed the names to Melusky and Meluskey and maybe even Meluski for some family lines.

My mother in laws email address is bmelusky a t juno dot com and mine is jj206 at drizzle dot com..... Her name is Beverly and she has the family tree and might remember more info if asked. Tell her I sent you. I just emailed her your post here.

take care,

Jon Melusky

family history needed

I am attempting to research my husbands
family but do not have much to go on.
Both Paternal Grandparents have passed
away and the surviving members of the family
have no additional information to provide.
Anthony Meluskey and Blanche Meluskey lived
in Shennandoah Pa (small coal mining
community) They owned a bar in the town.
Robert Joseph, a son was born in Philadelphia,
birth records show named Anthony. Do not have
any dates to list. Grandfathers sister Helen
Meluske passes away in 1996, another sister,
to my knowledge is still alive in New York
State. I sent a request to a cousin,her son,
for family information and dates but have not
received a reply. Family is from Lithuania
and the name was changed at one point from
Melauskas. Any information or leads would be
helpful. Thank you.
