I'm sorry about the Jacob Melcher. The best I know is that the youngest son of a German Baron left Germany with his wife and 8 children about 1796. Some tragedy occurred on the sea which left only two children as orphans. Lucy age 12 and Leonard, age 10. They were sold by the ship's captain as indentured servants. Lucy grew and married and moved to OHIO and dissapeared from our knowledge. Leonard(1787-1823) married a Rachel Stine.Their family located in the Centre Co. area of PA. Their children were Jonas (1813-1882) John (1815-1862) Leonard Jr. (1817-1899) Lucy(1819-)Rachel (1821-1886) and Mary (1823-)Thanks for your interest. Ken
