Fred Meier, aged 91, Passed Away Tuesday
Fred Meier, a resident of Windsor until two years ago, died Tuesday evening in Fort Collins where he had made his home since 1948. He had celebrated his 91st birthday in April.
The funeral services will be held Friday, afternoon at 2:30 in the Richards chapel, with interment at Lakeview Cemetery. Rev. M. Hikapeller will conduct the services.
Mr. Meier was born April 7, 1859 in Russia. He brought his family to America in 1900, settling at Okeene, Oklahoma. After farming there until 1914, he and Mrs. Meier moved to Windsor. The latter passed away here in 1948.
The Meiers had four daughters, but none survive. There are several grandchildren, including Mrs. Fred Meyer of Windsor and S. A. Nuss of Greeley. Fred Meyer is a nephew of the deceased, as are Conrad and George Meyer, both of Greeley.
The deceased was a charter member of the Zion's Evangelical Lutheran congregation in Windsor, although he had dropped his membership after ill health prevented his attendance at services.

Mrs. Mary Meier, 83, Died Last Saturday
Mrs. Mary Meier, 83, of Windsor, died at the Weld County Hospital in Greeley Saturday afternoon. She had been a patient there for the past three weeks.
Mrs. Meier was born in Russia in 1865 and came to the United States in 1900. She lived in Oklahoma until eleven years ago when she came to Windsor to make her home.
She is survived by her husband, Mr. Fred Meier, and two children, Mrs. Katie Hoffner and Fred Becker, both of Oklahoma.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday from the Richards Mortuary in Windsor, with interment in Lakeview cemetery.
