STREETSBORO, OH – Services will be Saturday, Aug. 31, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the L.E. Black, Phillips & Holden Funeral Home, Youngstown, Ohio for Mrs. Maxine Saunders, 77, formerly of Youngstown, who departed this life Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013.

Mrs. Saunders was born Nov. 14, 1935, in Appomattox, Virginia, a daughter of Gentry and Evelyn Bolling Megginson.

She had worked for 23 years in the Dietary/Housekeeping Department with Forum Health, retiring in 2000.

Maxine enjoyed cooking, crocheting and “hanging out” with her sisters.

She leaves to cherish her beloved memory, two children, Fred E. Saunders of Streetsboro, Ohio and Regina Saunders of Medina, Ohio; four sisters, Dorothy Gilmore of Youngstown, Ohio, Martha Hildred of Atlanta, Georgia, and Phyllis Barnes and Dianna Whipple, both of Virginia; nine grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family and friends.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Fred H. Saunders, who passed away in 1990; and a son, Keith Saunders.

Friends may call Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. at the funeral home.
