I've been searching Meagher roots for 25 years plus and report it's a frustrating journey with many brickwalls. My Meaghers were from the Waterford area of Ireland and don't see any immediate tie in with your family. However, did google John Ives Meagher and found a hit on a deed in his name at Pictou N.S. 1875-76 and also another entry for a Timothy Ives Meagher - either might provide leads. Good luck
