Was hoping someone out there has pictures of Jesse P. McWhorter born in Kentucky, lived and died in Louisville and buried at the Cave Hill Cemetery in Louisville. He fought in the Civil War in the 8th Kentucky Calvary, Company F for the Union. My grandpa's name was Jesse Pate McWhorter from KY

was he a justice of the peace or sheriff?

My great great grandfather was Jesse Payton McWhorter he was born in 1836 in Kentucky. Died in 1909. He lived in Louisville and is buried in Cave Hill Cemetary. He was a Civil War veteran but not fron the union side. I have never found records as of yet but he is buried in the Confederate section of the grave yard and he has a Confederate head stone.

Jesse Payton McWhorter was my great-grandfather. He married Mary Zuriah (Unknown). They had daughter, Amelia Virginia McWhorter who was born in 1858 in Louisville, KY. Amelia married Wright L. Collins who was born in 1846 in Tennessee. They had a son, Joseph Payton Collins, b. 1-20-1884 in Kentucky, d. 11-12-1959 in California. Joseph married Effie C. Walton who was born 7-23-1888 in Texas. She died 9-3-1974 in California. Joseph and Effie had several children, one of which was my father, James Paul Collins. I do have a picture of Jesse McWhorter, but it is of very poor quality. If you are still interested, I could try to duplicate the picture and "snail" mail it to you.
