I'm looking for these two siblings who are brickwalls in my tree. If anybody knows what happened to them in later life beyond what is below, please let me know.
They were both children of Alexander McLeod and Catherine Mathieson (various spellings). The family were resident at Bornaskittag in 1841 and 1851. This was the home of Catherine's father Donald Mathieson. I realise that this is not a specific house but one of numerous dwellings in the crofting settlement of that name. I've seen the word spelled in various ways in old maps and on the web.
Sometime between census day 1851 and the spring of 1856 the family had moved to Glasgow, presumably in search of work.
Anne is at home in 1861. She was a flour mill worker. After that, I cannot find a marriage or a death for her anywhere in Scotland. She never appears on another census with any of the rest of her family, and not on her own, at least not that I can be sure of.
John is last seen at home in 1871. He was a labourer and again I have lost track of him on censuses and like his sister, I have found no marriage or death for him in Scotland.
