Catherine M. (Owen) McLaughlin, age 99,
died Friday, December 24, 2010,
at Millcreek Community Hospital.
Born in Erie on December 28, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Noah and Eva (Hulbert) Owen.
A graduate of Villa Maria College,
she received a Master's Degree in Education from Allegheny College, and was a teacher in the Erie and Millcreek School Districts until her retirement. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard McLaughlin, who died in 1987;
three sisters;
and four brothers.
Survivors include a daughter, Emily Fees, and her husband, Harry, of York, Pa.;
two sisters, Naomi Myers of Lake Pleasant, Pa.
and Florence Sopp of California;
a brother, Frederick Owen of Ohio;
four grandchildren, Larry Fees, Julie Mahedy, Martin and Patricia Fees;
and ten great-grandchildren.
Friends may call on Tuesday
from 10:30 a.m. until the time of a prayer service at 12 noon at Brugger Funeral Homes & Crematory, 1595 West 38th Street at Greengarden Boulevard, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Blessed Sacrament Church at 12:30 p.m. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery.
