I personally believe that Gilbert was the son of Thomas McKeithan and Deborah ??? of SC, son of Dugald McKeithan of SC.
However, believe is the best I can do based on the available records which are posted on these pages.
If anyone else has found additional records and you'd be willing to share them with others, please send them to me so I can include them on this page.
I have not been able to go to SC and spend any time really digging into the records there, so there may be quite a bit more that will help to prove this line.
I'd like very much to hear from other researchers, especially descendants of Alexander McKeithan, my line. fharper@triad.rr.com
