Edward R. McKee

Edward R. McKee, 72, East Freedom, died Saturday evening at his home.
He was born in Altoona, son of the late Theodore and Mary (Hill) McKee. He married Dorothy Hale on June 15, 1963, in Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years; two sons: Mark and wife, Rhonda, of East Freedom and Matt and wife, Trisha, of Roaring Spring; four grandchildren: Kristen, Dylan, Eric and Alexis; two sisters: Annie McMasters and Gloria Dick, both of Altoona; and five brothers: Leo in Florida, Jim and Barry, both of Altoona, Jack in Ohio and Gerald of Manheim.
He was preceded in death by two grandsons: Joshua Mark and Matthew Eric Jr.; two sisters: Rene L. Deyarmin and Marjorie Hopper; and a brother, Bob.
Mr. McKee retired from Berwind Railway after 37 years of service as a grit blaster.
Edward's hobbies were hunting and fishing, and he enjoyed his children and grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 31, 2012, at Sorge Funeral Home Inc. Hollidaysburg where a funeral service will be held at 8 p.m.
