Thanks for the quick response... I have his WWI draft registration card, 1920 and 1930 census all showing him born and residing in Gore/Back Creek, Frederick, VA. I can't find anything in the 1900 or 1910 census (though 1920 says both his mother and father were born in Virginia).

I will keep looking and digging...thanks for your help.
