I've just read your message for the second time. I read it when you first posted and thought: Well I know a little about this and I will look it up and post it later. Here is later and I still haven't gone back and looked for my hard copy so will post now, mostly, from memory. I studied this family quite a bit early on (a few years ago) as I thought they might be part of my husband's Hardeman Co TN direct line which is also in Tipton Co TN as is Frank William McKee's direct line.
Info that I gathered abut Eleanor that you query about is that she is from the line of ROBERT MCKIE, of Rowan Co NC in some records, and was actually part of the Jersey Settlement that came from Hopewell. There is record of her transfer of her letter from her church in NC to her church in Tipton Co TN.
Researcher Gloria Padach, see one of her messages at msg 59144 on the SMITH Family GENFORUM site, had some of her SMITH family that married with this McKie / McKee / several varieties of spelling line and perhaps has some pertinent info.
I think there is a lot more info on google search for this Robert MCKIE now and you might find more help there also.
I had a lady tell me in an email that this Levi MOORE was also in Hardeman Co TN and that Sarah was actually his widowed mother and that she died there (Hardeman Co TN) ca 1830ish and he disappeared from there at that time. She said the last mention of him in HR Co TN was being assigned for road or bridge work in the late 1820's county court records. I had thought at that time that they were connected with an early 1830ish John McKee marriage there to a Diana GOODWIN. I never made the connection but did not pursue in depth as not many records were online or published at that time - may be more data online now. I am still not certain that they are not connected with my husand's MCKEE Family but haven't found any new info about it.
I will post more definite data if I can find it - perhaps this will help some.
