I can't vouch for the information but I did see a family tree someone had done on Ancestry.com that showed an Appleton Cooper McKee born about 1829 in Sacket Harbor,New York Died 9/22/1889 in Honey, Delaware, Iowa. His parents were Appleton H. McKee(b. 1785 in Conn.) and Polly Cooper(b. 1798)
It appears Polly Cooper was this Appleton's second wife of three, the other two being Sarah Smith and Permila Shepard.
