Hi. Yes, I believe I have some information for you. My gg grandfather was Patrick McGuckin b. 1834 Ballinderry. When his son (also Patrick) emigrated to Scotland, he spelled the name as McGuckian. At Patick Sr's funeral, the chief mourners included a John and Joseph McGuckin. I'll have to dig up the obit to remember if they were his brothers or his cousins. I visited Ballinderry and Magherafelt with a copy of the obituary and was taken to the farm where the family lived (near a place called Loup) until the mid 20th century. They were known as the "Blackberry McGuckins." There are other McGuckin families still living there....one was referred to by the colorful name of the "road boys". It's a beautiful place! Somewhere on this message board I transcribed the entire obit if you'd like to read it.
