I am researching this McGowan family on behalf of a friend.
Pat McGowan who lived in the harbour cottage in Cloonagh married Mary McGlone .

Pat and Mary had the following children

Mary married Thomas Dunleavy
Maggie married Martin Dunleavy
Michael married Beezie Kivlehan
Jane married Patrick Donlon
Bridget married Henry" Prince" Brady.
John married Sarah McLoughlin
Padraig married Mary Dunleavy
Martin married Mary Alice McLoughlin

I am particularly interested in the family of John McGowan /Sarah McLoughlin.John Worked on the Gore Estate Lissadell and on the Templehouse Estate Ballymote.His daughter Ellen McGowan married Albert Rushforth and emigrated to NY in 1936. A son John emigrated to NY in 1925.
Other children were Patrick,Mary Anne and Sarah. Sarah remained in Ireland and is buried in Carrigeens Cemetery.
