I appreciate the response. I received a simular claim of connection from Charles McGee or Las Vegas several years ago. We communicated for several years and he sent me numerous family pictures and his genealogy.
Although I could not substanciate his claim that John B. McGee b:1813 d:1869, son to the Reverend James McGee was in actuality connected to his line as John Simpson McGee b:1818 d:1890. Their claim was that the "B" middle initial was recorded incorrectly. I investigated further to discover John's headstone and death certificate in Pennsylvania - discrediting Charles claim to the line. Others have contacted me with the same incorrect connection. It is imperative that individuals do like you have done & research their lines through documentation to substanciate true lines -vs- speculation or assumptions.
Unfortunately many Irish & German names we're repeated with little variance. You could be in a community with 20 Mary McGee's born close to the same time frame and be from different family lines. That's where the real confusion lies.
Thanks again for your reply.
