Hi Darren, I found your post online and realized you are looking for my grandmother, if you haven't already found out she passed away in 90 or 91. I was actually trying to figure out the date when I found your post.
I am Dianna's oldest son that is the daughter you couldn't think of, I remember we lived behind grandma and your family lived beside her when we were really young.
Hope this helps, let me know if I can answer anything else, my mind aint much most days but may be able to help.

After a year's worth of work, we have achieved success in restoring a lost and forgotten cemetery, all with help of many Modes and McEntires. This was spearheaded by my brother Scott Wesson. Many thanks to Derick Hartshorn for getting our history, survey of the cemetery, and photos posted on the Cleveland Co. NCGenweb site. Here is the link for anyone interested in it! Known burials there include Mode, McEntire, Williamson, Hoard, Powell.
http://www.ncgenweb.us/cleveland/mode-mc.htm

Lynn Wesson [descendant of William McEntire and Mary Collins]

I'm looking for anyone that can help identify a photo that I have of a man and young boy. On the back of the photo is the name "McEntire" but I cannot figure out what the first name or word is. Looks like G/S r o/a t e. My ancestors are John McEntire b.1759 - Rev.War.Vet, his son Joseph Joplin McEntire, Jos' daughter Manerva (married John S. Henley)of Washington Co, Tenn. John and Manerva's children remained in GA after they moved to Miss (he was a methodist minister). John & Joseph McEntire are buried at Hebron Presbyterian Church in Banks (previously Franklin) County with their wives. They moved there from VA after moving to US from Ireland.

not related - for board info

Daily Press
Victorville, San Bernardino, CA
20 Feb 2011

MARY CATHERINE McENTIRE RIGGS

On February, 7th, 2011, Mary Catherine McEntire Riggs of Apple Valley California is "On the Road Again, Making Music with All Her Friends". Mary, the youngest of three children, was born Nov 21st, 1932 in Birmingham, Alabama. She is survived by four children and 10 grandchildren: Sons Robert Earl, Johnny Patrick and James Phillip Riggs along with daughter Rosemarie Ann Riggs Palmer. Daughter in-laws: Julie, Barbara, Teri and Son in-law George W. Palmer. Grandchildren: Robert Earl Riggs 2nd, Matthew Ryan Riggs, Tara Ashley Riggs, Alyssa Nicole Riggs, Jacinda Rose Riggs, Kaylynn Marie Riggs, Serena Rose Palmer, Leevi Alton Allen Palmer, Brittney Rose Riggs Moore and Tyler Benson. Nieces: Jan Ricketts Glasgow, Leigh Ann Ricketts, Kathryn Ann Hodges-Hagey and Mary "Bibith" Hodges Lopez. She is preceded by her oldest son Michael Alton Little, sister Ann McEntire Hodges and brother C.B. McEntire. Mary was retired from the Army Air Force Exchange Service and Apple Valley Communications. Mary cherished her many good friends, Charon, Sandy, Sue, Shirley, Joan, Gail, Claudette, Carolyn and Lee, to name a few. She loved to collect many types of things, but what she treasured most was her collection of family and friends. Mary's greatest joy was being a devoted mother and grandmother and her history and memories will continue to live on in each of her grand- babies. Graveside services will be held at Sunset Hills Memorial Park in Apple Valley on Saturday, Feb 12th, 2011 at 10 am. You have seen me grow up and you have helped me become who I am today. You inspire me and are one of the strongest people I know. I am so blessed to have you in my life. Your memories will live on forever and you will for-ever remain in my heart. I miss and love you so much. I can't say it enough. This is not goodbye but simply see you later. I love you. R.I.P. Grandma. -Jacinda Rose Riggs I just don't know why things happen half the time, without reason, without rhyme. Lovely, sweet young woman, daughter, wife and mother. Makes no sense to me, I just have to believe she flew up to heaven on the wings of angels, by the clouds and stars and passed where no one sees. And she walks with Jesus and her loved ones waitin' and I know she's smilin' sayin', "Don't worry 'bout me." -Alyssa Nicole Riggs Family is the root of all that is good in our lives, and I am so grateful for mine. "I never knew I would be so young when I lost my grandma, or be this old and need her so much". "I MISS YOU GRANDMA! RIP we will get through this each and every one of us will stick together and fight through the hard times of life because that is what family does, is stay together in everything. We may have differences in things but most of all we love one another and we always will. I love you!!!! -Kaylynn Marie Riggs

I am directly related to Henry McEntire of Cass County Texas born 1805 in North Carolina. He lived as a youth in South Carolina and then married Gilly Hinnant also of South Carolina. I believe they migrated through Alabama to Georgia and then to Texas. Is it possible they may have stopped for a time in Arkansas?

I am a decedent of Jessie Hickson & Carmel McEntyre.
My Grandmother is their daughter, Fannie Mae McEntyre, she is still living.
We are trying to piece information together. She has told me that her Grandmother Annie Jackson McEntyre never remarried after the death of her Grandfather John Henry McEntyre. Both are buried in Blackoak. I have found a marriage record for Cross county however they miss spelled Johns Name.Jessie lived with my Grandmother and Dad until he died in 1984. I can be reached at suziejo12000@yahoo.com. J

try "McIntyre" instead of "McEntire". I have been told the spelling of the name changed way back when (here in America, I suppose). My grandmother was Rena Dimple McIntyre. She was born in Oklahoma. My mom and aunts have told me the spelling was changed by some of the McIntyres, but I don't really know which spelling was first, and there may be a third way to spell it that descended! I have wondered if I am related to Reba since my grandmother's name is SO CLOSE! (and both born in Oklahoma)

Aaron McEntire and Wife Susannah In NC: What happened to them?

I have Aaron (C?) McEntire married to Susannah (Bennick?) in my McEntire tree. However, around the time of the Civil War they seem to have split apart because after the Civil War Aaron appears to be in TN, while Susannah has remained in NC. Does anyone have any information on this puzzling piece of information? Could it have anything to do with their son Zacahry and/or Myra Crocker? Thanks for any information that can be provided.
