Helen Louise Needham McCuen, 91, of Zanesville, Ohio was called from labor to reward at 3:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, 2005, at her residence after a long illness.
She was born Wednesday, Aug. 5, 1914, in Parkersburg, W.Va., the daughter of the late Ralph and Maude Dalton Needham. She was a devoted member of Hands of Faith Church, which she loved.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. McCuen was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Wesley Ellsworth McCuen, who died Sept. 17, 1981; her sister, Ethel Young; four brothers, Ralph Jr., Wallace, George, and Donald Needham.
Those left to cherish her memory are her loving sisters, Emily Norman and Gladys Mayle, both of Zanesville; two sons, John McCuen and James (Betty) McCuen, both of Zanesville; five daughters, Rita (John) Caliman, Glenna (Richard) McConnell and Saundra McCuen, all of Zanesville, and Barbara (Edward) Chatman and Donna Lewis, both of Columbus; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; special friends, Margarete Adams, Geanne and Donald Mayle, Evelyn Kennedy, Mary Harvey, Fred Martin, Cynthia and Linus Harriston and William Hunter; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Calling hours will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday Dec. 29, at the Apostolic Christian Church, 1148 Ridge Ave., and one hour prior to services from 11 a.m. to noon.
Services will be at noon, Friday, Dec. 30, 2005, at the church, with the Rev. Michael L. Bullock officiating. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery.
