Searching for any information about the family of John P.H. McCracken (s/o James McCracken & Mary Jordan) who was born in Clearfield Co., PA and married Martha Jeffries (d/o William Jeffries & Sarah Pyles) 26 Aug 1852 in Marion, E. Mahoning Twp., Indiana Co., PA. The family lived in Montgomery Twp. in the 1860 census; Grant Twp. in the 1870 census and Cherry Hill Twp. in the 1880 Census. The 1860 census lists: John P.H. McCracken, 45, farmer; Martha, 36; Sarah M., 7 and Martha E., 6. The 1870 census lists: John McCracken, 51, farm laborer; Martha, 44; Sarah, 16; Martha, 15; Rachel, 9; Samantha, 7 & John, 3. In 1880: John P. McCracken, 59, farming; Martha, 56, wife; Samantha, 16, daughter; Elsie E., 7, daughter; John H., 13, son.
My gt. grandmother is the Samantha listed in the 1870 & 1880 censuses. Her full name was Samantha Keturah McCracken and she married Jacob F. Lowman. I am interested in any information about her siblings or parents and their descendants. At this point I have that Sarah McCracken m. Wm Alfred Mentzer; Rachel McCracken m. John Albert Lydick and Elsie McCracken m. Robert M. Lainburg. I have found no other information about the son, John H., listed in the 1870 & 1880 censuses or the daughter, Martha. I'd love to share information with anyone who knows about these families. I have a picture of Samantha Keturah, her husband Jacob Lowman and five of their six children.
