May I throw in a speculation here?
Do you have any ideas or leads on the parents of John?
I have been trying to find a connection to a Quaker family that lived in Orange County, NC. (Hinshaw has many entries for them.) Alexander McCracken and Abigail Holiday had several children - one was a John (whose birthdate I have listed as 1756) (he is mentioned in Alexander's will - I have a copy). Some of the members of this family settled in Orange County, Indiana. Is this close to Daviess?
I have no proof of the connection - but the similarities are interesting!!!
Please let me know if I am totally wrong!!!!
